BEHIND THE LENS
Kate's journey into photography was not always a clear path. Her passion began in film and video production, first with the permission of using the family camcorder to capture the living, breathing world around her. This passion grew from a spark to a blaze when she decided to take her skills to the next level by attending Temple University's Film and Media Arts program. She received her Bachelor of Arts in 2009 and immediately jumped into freelancing.
Her career had its turning point when she met Alex Favin and PJ DiMuzio of Stratagem Pictures and accepted a job in their start-up video production company as a jack-of-all-trades in January of 2013. The duo then established the seperate photography studio entity Philament Photography in February and Kate added her image capturing and retouching talents to the company's ever-expanding tool belt. Since joining Philament, Kate has captured and edited over a terabyte of her own and other photographer's photos, implemented new, more effecient editing workflows, and continues to provide both corporate clients and individual ones with top quality photos, and guaranteed satisfaction.
The trek into the vast, wild world of photography may not have been as direct as other photographers. Some might call her path a little backwards. Most people move from photography to videography and not the other way around. But the important thing is the whole picture, no matter how you get there.
Kate is a non-traditional girl who still loves new toys, a good book, and a really beautiful sunset.
